Hawthorns are a powerful plant medicine for protection because of their ability to grow thorns, but also because the flowers of the Hawthorn tree represent heart healing and emotional balance. Thus, the Hawthorn tree teaches us the importance of empathy and kindness with boundaries and the ability to protect oneself from anyone or anything who threatens to take advantage of that. 
Her lore is also equally as interesting to me because in older times most people refused to move a Hawthorn tree if found because they thought it would bring bad luck or even death. 
Each thorn has been gathered with care from my Hawthorn tree in my garden and comes like the jar shown.
